Studio Bazar
  HOW IT ALL STARTED...
Studio Bazar is a real family business.
With a current workforce of 42, the business, now owned by brother and sister Julius and Rooslinde Jaspers, started off in a tiny shop on the Spuistraat in the city of Amsterdam more than fourty years ago. In "father Jaspers'" design studio, photo-shoots were held regularly. The ´requisites´ from those sessions mounted up to the point where they got to be in everybody´s way. Mother Dominique Vroom decided to make a virtue of necessity and opened up a shop to sell off all those desirable things. She then started purchasing articles herself, and thanks to her good taste and her keen eye for trends she soon made a name for herself. Her competitors were especially impressed by the creativity with which she arranged this first Studio Bazar shop and asked her to look around for them, too. This is how Studio Bazar´s wholesale branch was soon set up beside its retail branch.

AND HOW IT TURNED OUT...
Very quickly, the tiny shop proved too small and Studio Bazar moved to the Reguliersdwarsstraat, where one of Studio Bazar´s stores can still be found today. In Studio Bazar´s kitchen-store, culinary freaks can find all the "hardware" they need and brides and grooms to be can make their wishes come true by leaving a gift list for their guests to choose from. Having grown up among their parents´ pots and pans, Julius and Rooslinde were born and bred to the business. Rooslinde Jaspers is the financial and administrative brains. Julius first succesfully tried his luck with two home catering shops, a catering company and a restaurant. As culinary director, Julius has been responsible for the creative side of Studio Bazar since 1992.

As of january 1 2010 Stucio Bazar will continue her activities in the 2 stores in the centre of Amsterdam, Reguliersdwarsstraat en de Keizersgracht, under supervision of Rooslinde Jaspers.

Julius Jaspers will leave the firm as per that date.
